EUCEB (European Certification Board for Mineral Wool Products) is an independent label that confirms that glass wool and rock wool products comply with European regulations regarding biopersistence and safety. Specifically, it certifies that the fibers used are non-carcinogenic and meet European directives.
BCCA issues the EUCEB certificate, a voluntary declaration for mineral wool fibers. Holders of an EUCEB certificate are entitled to use the EUCEB mark on products made from fibers that meet the certificate’s requirements.
EUCEB: Trust in the Safety of Mineral Wool
EUCEB was established in 2000 to strengthen the confidence of authorities, clients, and consumers in the safety of mineral wool. This goal is achieved by providing accurate information regarding the non-classification of mineral wool under European Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 on the classification, labeling, and packaging of substances and mixtures, protecting human health and the environment.
The EUCEB certificate is a voluntary declaration confirming that mineral wool fibers have a chemical composition within the exempted reference fiber ranges. These fibers have been tested according to European protocols and meet the conditions of Note Q of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
The EUCEB mark is the property of the EUCEB association, which has appointed BCCA as an independent certification body to implement an EUCEB certification scheme in accordance with the requirements of EN ISO/IEC 17065.
Why a EUCEB certification?
Through continuous external inspections, EUCEB certification ensures that both production processes and finished products are reliable and safe.
For manufacturers, clients, and contractors, this label provides a clear guarantee that the materials used are healthy, durable, and compliant, fully in line with European legislation..
